Terms of Use
Last updated: 01/10/2026
These terms govern your use of our website at getcertin.ai and the Certin platform at app.getcertin.ai. The website and the platform are operated by Certin Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17345390, whose registered office is at 205 Regent Street, London, W1B 4HB, United Kingdom. In these terms, Certin, we, us and our mean Certin Technologies Limited.
1. These terms
1.1By using the website or the platform you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use either.
1.2Certin is a business tool. It is not offered to consumers and is not intended for personal use. Where you use the platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
1.3Where your organisation has entered into a separate written agreement with us for use of the platform, that agreement governs that use and prevails over these terms to the extent of any conflict. These terms continue to apply to your use of the website.
1.4Our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy form part of these terms.
2. Access to the platform
2.1There is no open sign up. Access to the platform is granted on request and accounts are provisioned by us or by an administrator at the organisation holding the account.
2.2You will keep your credentials secure, use the multi-factor authentication the platform requires, and tell us without delay at security@getcertin.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.
2.3The organisation holding the account is responsible for the people it authorises, for the permissions it grants them, and for removing access when it is no longer needed.
2.4We may suspend access immediately where we reasonably believe there is a security risk, unlawful use, or a risk of harm to others. We will tell you the reason as soon as we are able and restore access once the reason has ceased.
3. Acceptable use
3.1You will not use the website or the platform unlawfully, or to facilitate anything unlawful.
3.2You will not put into the platform:
- data you are not entitled to provide to us;
- information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data used to identify someone, health, or sex life or sexual orientation, including where it is written into a free text field;
- information about criminal convictions, offences, allegations or suspicions concerning an identifiable person;
- payment card numbers, bank account details or government issued identifiers;
- information about children.
3.3If you find that information of a kind listed in clause 3.2 has been entered, tell us promptly so that it can be removed or isolated. A prompt report is not treated as a breach of these terms.
3.4You will not:
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the platform, except where that restriction is prohibited by law, or use it to build a competing product;
- scrape the platform, circumvent its access controls, or extract data by automated means outside the interfaces provided for that purpose;
- probe, scan or test the security of the platform without our written permission, or attempt to reach another customer’s data;
- construct inputs designed to make the platform operate outside its intended function, including instructions concealed in content the automated assistant will read;
- place an unreasonable load on the platform or degrade it for others.
4. Artificial intelligence
4.1The platform uses artificial intelligence to classify records, forecast problems, answer questions about operations and, in some cases, place calls or send messages. Where the platform interacts with you directly, including by voice call, it will tell you that you are dealing with an automated system.
4.2Performing that work involves sending content to specialist third party providers, which process it and send a result back. We name every one of those providers, and the location at which each processes data, at getcertin.ai/subprocessors. No content is sent to a provider which is not named there. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent, what safeguards apply and where information is stored.
4.3We do not permit those providers to use content we send them to train or improve their models.
4.4Output produced by the platform, including classifications, forecasts, risk values, recommendations, summaries and drafted messages, is generated by statistical models. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and it may be wrong while appearing confident. That is a characteristic of the technology, not a defect we can remove.
4.5You will not rely on output as the sole basis for a decision with material operational, financial, legal, safety or employment consequences. Where output matters, check it.
4.6The platform can take some actions on its own. Every proposed action passes through a control which applies the settings the account holder has chosen, and which can hold the action for a person to approve or block it. Any action capable of producing a legal effect on an individual, or of significantly affecting them in a similar way, always requires a person to approve it, and that cannot be switched off.
4.7Nothing the platform produces is legal, regulatory, financial, insurance, safety or engineering advice.
5. Your data
5.1Data put into the platform belongs to the organisation that put it there. We claim no ownership of it.
5.2You grant us the right to host, copy, transmit, analyse, index and display that data, and to generate output from it, for the purpose of providing the platform.
5.3We will not use it to train or improve any general purpose artificial intelligence model.
5.4Where we process personal data on behalf of an organisation, we do so as its processor under a written data processing agreement. Where we process personal data for our own purposes, our Privacy Policy explains what we do and why.
6. Our intellectual property
6.1We own the website, the platform, the software, models and documentation within them, and all improvements to them. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.
6.2You have the right to use the platform for your organisation’s internal business purposes for as long as your access continues, and for no other purpose.
6.3Where you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve the platform.
7. Availability and changes
7.1The platform is under active development. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn.
7.2We aim to keep the website and the platform available, but we do not guarantee that either will be uninterrupted or free of error. Both depend on third party services, and where one of those fails the platform may be degraded or unavailable.
7.3Any availability or support commitment is recorded in the separate agreement between us. These terms contain none.
8. Warranties
8.1We will provide the platform with reasonable skill and care.
8.2We do not warrant that output will be accurate or complete, or that the platform will meet any requirement not agreed with us in writing.
8.3Apart from what these terms say expressly, all other warranties, conditions and terms implied by statute or common law are excluded to the fullest extent the law allows.
9. Liability
9.1Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
9.2Subject to clause 9.1, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.
9.3We are not a carrier, freight forwarder, warehouse operator or customs agent, and we are not party to any contract of carriage. We take no possession or control of goods and we assume no liability under any regime governing their carriage.
9.4Where your organisation has a separate written agreement with us, the liability provisions of that agreement apply to your use of the platform in place of clause 9.5.
9.5Where there is no such agreement, our total liability to you in connection with the website or the platform is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.
10. Ending your access
10.1We may withdraw access to the website at any time.
10.2Access to the platform continues for as long as the account holder’s arrangement with us continues. Where a separate agreement exists, that agreement governs how it ends and what happens to data afterwards.
10.3Clauses 5, 6, 8.3 and 9 continue to apply after your access ends.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when we last did so. Where a change is material we will give reasonable notice, and where your organisation has a separate agreement with us, that agreement governs how changes are notified and what you may do about them. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept it.
12. General
12.1You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a group company, or in connection with a merger or a sale of our business.
12.2A person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
12.3If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
12.4A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
12.5Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform caused by an event outside our reasonable control.
12.6These terms, and any dispute arising out of them including a non contractual dispute, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
